Introduction
The scheme was introduced in April 2022, to support and encourage deserving Muslim students from financially disadvantaged families who are enrolled in any of the six autonomous universities in Singapore studying in the fields related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Software Engineering to excel in their studies.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Singapore Citizen holding a valid National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) or permanent resident (PR) of Singapore.
2. Malay/Muslim.
3. Have obtained full time admission to a degree programme in Singapore in the fields related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science and Mathematics offered by any of the following autonomous Universities:
a. National University Singapore (NUS)
b. Nanyang Technology University (NTU)
c. Singapore Management University (SMU)
d. Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
e. Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD)
f. Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
4. Has achieved outstanding results in his/her academic studies (GCE ‘A’ Level, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic Diploma or NUS High diploma).
5. Not in receipt of any other scholarships.
Conditions
1. Preference shall be given to applicants who are willing to undertake an internship with Bitsmedia (if an external internship is part of their course curriculum).
2. Applicants from the low-income family will be given priority.
3. Each applicant needs to submit only ONE application to Yayasan MENDAKI to be eligible for all other schemes. Multiple applications from the same applicant will be closed.
4. Applications will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
5. Applicant must be a confirmed student of the local institutions mentioned above.
6. Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants.
7. Being eligible does not guarantee an award.
8. Interviews may be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible for the interview does not guarantee an award.
9. The Bursary shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the recipient is enrolled in.
10. Recipient must re-apply to be considered for the Bursary in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the eligibility criteria.

Mandatory documents required to submit application
1. Front and Back Copy of NRIC of applicant and all family members residing in the same household.
2. Applicant’s most recent academic transcript clearly indicating their:
a. Full Name
b. Name of Course & Level
c. Subject Score or CGPA
3. Proof of student confirmation into Institution (Acceptance Letter) clearly indicating:
a. Full Name
b. Name of Course
c. Commencement Date

5. Latest payslip for all employed working adults in the household or official Letter from employer indicating the latest income.
6. Latest Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) Notice of Assessment (NOA) for all self-employed household members.
7. Latest CPF Contribution Statement for all Unemployed adults in the household.
8. All relevant Certificate of Marriage, Death Certificate, Divorce Certificate, etc where applicable.
9. Please submit a brief essay (under 150 words), sharing your achievements & outlining your goals for the next 5 and 10 yrs, in MS Word Format.
10. Other supporting Documents if any.
