MENDAKI Scholarship - University 2024

Introduction

The scholarship was introduced in 1995.  It aims to reward top students who had performed exceptionally well at both GCE ‘A’ level examinations and Polytechnics.

Application Period *

Courses

• Preferred courses include Health & Life Sciences, Medicine, Multimedia Design, Engineering.

   

Eligibility Criteria

1. Muslim Singapore Citizens or Permanent Resident of Singapore (regardless of race) who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution.

2. Commencing first-year studies in a full-time Degree course in any of the following institutions:

    

   1. National University of Singapore
   2. Nanyang Technological University
   3. Singapore Management University
   4. Singapore Institute of Technology
   5. Singapore University of Technology and Design

   6. Singapore University of Social Sciences

       

3. Obtained 3 distinctions (including General Paper) in the GCE ‘A’ level examination OR a Polytechnic Diploma with a Certificate of Merit.
4. Obtained a minimum aggregate of 37 points for the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
5. Male applicants must have completed their National Service.
6. Good records of active participation in co-curricular activities (CCA).

7. Not in receipt of other Bursary/Scholarship.

    

Conditions

1. Candidates will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents from the applicants.
2. Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible does not guarantee a placement.

3. Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants and they must have been accepted by the institution.

    

Value of Award

• One scholarship worth $4,000 per annum is available each year to first year student.

• The scholarship is disbursed yearly for the duration of the course of study subject to satisfactory performance of the scholar.

   

Mandatory documents required to submit application

1. Identification of applicant - Front and Back Copy of NRIC.

2. Latest Academic Results of applicant clearly showing:

    

   1. Full name;
   2. Course of study;
   3. Year

   4. Grades, Ranking Points & cGPA where applicable;

       

3. For first year students in ITE, Polytechnic or Universities, please provide official proof of admission into institution of study. Those who do not currently have this can and must provide later nearing the admission of school date preferably before closure of application window to be submitted via the portal;
4. Family Members’ Particulars Form duly completed and signed. Please download the form here: Family Members’ Particulars Form 2024;

5. Employed adults in the household (except for National Servicemen):

    

   1. Please provide latest Payslip OR

   2. Letter from Employer confirming latest pay;

       

6. Unemployed adults in the household:

    

   1. Please provide latest CPF Contribution Statement OR

   2. The Income Declaration Form. Please download the form here: Income-Declaration-Form-for-Scholarship / Bursary 2024;

       

7. Self-employed adults in the household:

    

   1. Please provide latest IRAS Notification of Assessment;

       

8. Please provide in 150 words, your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 years in MS Word Format;
9. Other supporting Documents if any.
