Education Trust Fund–Nomanbhoy Bursary- 2025

Introduction

Introduced in September 2020, the ETF-Nomanbhoy Bursary intends to support deserving Malay/Muslim students from financially disadvantaged families who are enrolled in local special education schools (SPED), primary schools, Institutes of Technical Education (ITE), polytechnics and universities.

Objective

It aims to encourage deserving Malay/Muslim students to continue to excel in their studies.

Application Period *

Eligibility

1.            Singapore citizens holding a valid NRIC / PR of Singapore;

2.            Malay/Muslim;

3.            Pursuing full-time education in Singapore in any of the following institutions:

1. Special education schools;

2. Primary schools;

3. The 3 Institutes of Technical Education (ITE);

4. 5 local Polytechnics and

5. 5 local Universities 

4.            Achieved good academic results in his/her course of study;

5.            Have a household per capita income (PCI) of S$750 and below;

6.            Not in receipt of any other bursaries.

Conditions

1. SPED - Priority will be given to those with developmental delays or special needs;

2. Polytechnics & Universities - Preferably those enrolled in a course of study in emerging industries with a module or minor in entrepreneurship;

3. Each applicant needs to submit ONE application only.

   1. We will consider your application for other eligible schemes accordingly.

   2. Duplicate applications will be closed 

4. Applications will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents.

   1. Incomplete applications will be closed.

5. Applicant must be accepted by the local institutions mentioned above.

6. Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants.

7. Being eligible does not guarantee an award.

8. Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible for the interview does not guarantee an award. 

9. Each Bursary is applicable for ONE Academic Year. 

10. The Bursary shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the recipient is enrolled in. 

11. Recipient must re-apply to be considered for the Bursary in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the criteria.

Value of Award

Mandatory documents required to submit application

1. For SPED students, please provide proof medical letter or document that shows applicant with special needs or developmental delays.

2. Front and Back Copy of NRIC of applicant and all family members residing in the same household. Those below 15 years old to provide Birth Certificate.

3. Academic results of applicant– The most recent result transcript clearly stating:

   1. Full Name,

   2. Name of Course & Level and

   3. Subject Score or CGPA.

4. Proof of student confirmation into Institution clearly stating:

   1. Full Name,

   2. Name of Course and

   3. Start Date.

5. Family Members’ Particulars Form (Please download the form here: Family Members’ Particulars Form 2025.

6. All employed working adults in the household to submit latest Payslip or official Letter from Employer stating latest Pay.

7. Self-employed household members to submit latest Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) Statement of Account.

8. Unemployed adults in the household to submit latest CPF Contribution Statement.

9. All relevant Certificate of Marriage, Death Certificate, Divorce Certificate, etc

10. In 150 words, share your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 yrs in MS Word Format.

11. Other supporting Documents (if any)

Application Procedure

1. First time applicants must create an account to be able to proceed with the application.

2. Applications should be submitted via MyMENDAKI portal by clicking the button on the right.

3. We will be in touch with you within 6 to 8 weeks upon closure of the application window. *

4. Yayasan MENDAKI’s decision on the outcome of all applications shall be final and not subject to further review or appeal.
