Introduction

The MENDAKI-Institution of Engineers Singapore Fund (MENDAKI-IESF) Scholarship scheme was introduced in 1985. Application is by nomination. It is applicable for Engineering students in local Polytechnics and the local autonomous Universities in Singapore.

Application Period

Eligibility Criteria

1. Muslim Singapore Citizens (regardless of race) who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to
   the institution.

    

2. University- Full time undergraduates for 2nd to 4th year only, in any of the 6 local Universities:

    

   1. National University of Singapore (NUS),
   2. Nanyang Technological University (NTU),
   3. Singapore Management University (SMU),
   4. Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT),
   5. Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) and
   6. Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).

    

3. Polytechnic- Full time 3rd year polytechnic students only, in any of the 5 local Polytechnics: 

    

   1. Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP),
   2. Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP),
   3. Republic Polytechnic (RP),
   4. Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and

   5. Temasek Polytechnic (TP).

       

4. Passed all year-end examinations with at least a Grade ‘C’ average.

    

5. Nominees should not be in receipt of other scholarship or bursary.

    

6. Applicants must be nominated by their school.

Conditions

1. Each applicant needs to submit ONE application only.

    

   1. We will consider your application for other eligible schemes accordingly.
   2. Duplicate applications will be closed.

    

2. Applications will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents.

    

   1. Incomplete applications will be closed.

    

3. Applicant must be accepted by the local institutions mentioned above.

    

4. Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants.

    

5. Being eligible does not guarantee an award.

    

6. Interviews may be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible for the interview does not guarantee an award.

    

7. Each Scholarship is applicable for ONE Academic Year.

    

8. The Scholarship shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the recipient is enrolled in.

    

9. Recipient must re-apply to be considered for the Scholarship in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the criteria.

    

10. Not in receipt of any other Scholarships.
     

Value of Award

Mandatory documents required to submit application

1. MENDAKI-IESF Nomination Form (The form can be obtained from your institution).

    

2. Front and Back Copy of NRIC of applicant and all family members residing in the same household.

    

3. Academic results of applicant– The most recent result transcript clearly stating:

    

   1. Full Name,
   2. Name of Course & Level and
   3. Subject Score or CGPA.

    

4. Proof of student confirmation into Institution clearly stating:

    

   1. Full Name,
   2. Name of Course and
   3. Start Date.

    

5. Family Members’ Particulars Form. Please download the form here: Family Members’ Particulars Form 2025.

    

6. All employed working adults in the household to submit latest Payslip or official Letter from Employer stating latest Pay.

    

7. Self-employed household members to submit latest Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) Statement of Account.

    

8. Unemployed adults in the household to submit latest CPF Contribution Statement.

    

9. All relevant Certificate of Marriage, Death Certificate, Divorce Certificate, etc

    

10. In 150 words, share your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 yrs in MS Word Format.

     

11. Other supporting Documents if any.

Application Procedure

1. First time applicants must create an account to be able to proceed with the application.

    

2. Applications should be submitted via MyMENDAKI portal by clicking the Tab on the right.

    

3. We will be in touch with you within 6 to 8 weeks upon closure of the application window.

    

4. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.

    

5. Yayasan MENDAKI’s decision on the outcome of all applications shall be final and not subject to further review or appeal.
