Yayasan MENDAKI - Dr Jai Prashanth Rao Scholarship


Introduction
Introduced in December 2016, the Yayasan MENDAKI – Dr Jai Prashanth Rao Scholarship aims to encourage students to consistently do well in their studies at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and progress to Higher NITEC, Polytechnic and University.
 
Eligibility
  • Muslim Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution.
  • Good academic results for any of the following:
    • Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘N’ examinations – aggregate score for Mathematics and best 3 subjects not exceeding 9 points
    • Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ examinations – aggregate score for English, Mathematics and best 3 subjects not exceeding 26 points
  • Student with good academic results will be given priority for the award; however, if the results are comparable, then those with a lower family income should be given priority.
Conditions
  • The preferred courses for the scholarship but not limited to include Information Technology, Cloud Computing, Security Technology, Cyber & Network Security, Computer & Networking, Interactive Design, Community Care & Social Services and Nursing.
  • Applicants will only be considered upon receipt of fully completed forms and relevant supporting documents.
  • Eligibility to apply for the scholarship does not guarantee any award of the scholarship.
  • Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates. Applicants shall also be considered for other scholarships/bursaries where applicable.
  • The scholarship shall be used for the recipients’ educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the recipient is enrolled in.

  • The duration of each scholarship is up to a minimum period of study leading to a NITEC or Higher NITEC, or maximum of 4 years, whichever is lower.
  • The scholarship shall be disbursed annually for the whole duration of the course, subject to satisfactory performance of the recipient. Satisfactory score is defined as having a minimum GPA score of 3.5 in an academic year.
  • Recipient must submit a copy of his/her examination results yearly to Yayasan MENDAKI.

6) Parents or Guardian Latest Payslip / Letter from Employer Confirming Latest CPF statement
7) Short write up on your personal goals. Pls upload in MS Word format (Min. 150 words)
8) Other supporting Documents (if any)

*Incomplete applications and documents will not be processed. Please submit ONE bursary OR scholarship application only. We may consider your application for other eligible schemes.
 
*Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected.
