Please ensure that you meet all eligibility criteria before you apply.
Eligibility criteria to be a tutor
Applicants must meet 3 eligibility criteria to be considered:
- Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR).
- Have/be one of the following:
- A diploma from a local polytechnic or other recognised institutions.
- A degree from a recognised institution (e.g. NUS/NTU/SMU/SUTD/SIT/SUSS/others)
- Undergraduate in a recognised institution (e.g. NUS/NTU/SMU/SUTD/SIT/SUSS or others) and have completed the A-Levels or a diploma programme.
- Have a minimum grade of O-Level B4 or N(A)-Level Grade 2 for the subjects they wish to teach. Applicants without O-Level grades are not eligible to teach Express as you would not have gone through the same curriculum experience.
Tutor types
There are 3 types of tutors. Please choose the option which would suit you the most.
- Tutor (you must commit to teach classes for 32 weeks a year).
- Relief tutor (if you cannot commit to the 32-week schedule).
- Head tutor (HT). (eligibility given below)
Eligibility criteria to be an HT
On top of all the requirements to be a Tutor, an HT should:
- Preferably be NIE-trained
- Have prior leadership experience
- Have strong administrative skills
- Have good communications skills
Documents
Applicants need to submit the following documents.
You are encouraged to use MyInfo as far as possible.
- NRIC (front and back) (Not needed with MyInfo)
- Recent passport photograph
- Educational certificates
- GCE O-Level certificate (if you had sat for the O-Levels) (Not needed with MyInfo)
- GCE A-Level certificate (if you had sat for the A-Levels) (Not needed with MyInfo)
- Diploma certificate and transcript (if you had completed a diploma programme)
- Degree certificate and transcript (if you had completed a degree programme)
- Post-graduate (Masters/PhD) certificate and transcript (if any)
- NIE certificate and transcript (if you are NIE-trained)
- Matriculation card (if you are an undergrad)
